A new NFL?

Let's say Roger Goddell and his Trumpers actually force all the protesters out of the NFL or the protesters leave on their own accord and those players along with people of color with a lot of money start their own pro football league.

1. Would you watch that "new" NFL like league (the talent should be better than what would be left over in the current NFL)

2. Do you think any over the air networks (including the digital subchannel Stadium) would air the games or will the games be relegated to somewhere on cable?

I'm not sure that the league's black players are, as a whole, outraged enough to quit for a new league run by fellow African-Americans. After all, most of the NFL's players of color have NOT knelt. Also, no matter how talented the players in the rebel (ironic word to use for an African-American concept) league are, there'd still be players in the NFL whose absence would be felt. Offensive line, tight end, quarterback would be weak in the new league if the split was purely along racial lines, and kicking would be an absolute joke; there aren't very many black kickers in college, let alone the pros. The NFL would miss some of its fastest and most acrobatic players, for sure, but again, unless every black player walked out, the NFL's standard of play would still be higher.

I don't think Joe American really has that much loyalty to the NFL as an entity. If the NFL sold out to an Arab sultan tomorrow and moved the teams to the middle east, it would suddenly become just as irrelevant as Premier League soccer to Americans.

But that is never going to happen. The teams have individual ownership and all the "sultan" would be getting was a league office, media contracts and a bunch of trademarks. Middle Eastern and Russian billionaires own two of England's most successful soccer teams -- Chelsea and Manchester City -- but moving them to Dubai or Moscow isn't even a remote possibility. Arsenal and Manchester United are American-owned but won't be leaving London and Manchester for Denver and Tampa. The league -- the Football Association -- is British-owned.
