 Just when most everybody thought the FCC was Dead, stick a fork in them, Washington came back to life with a vengeance, in recent rulings such as Straight Path $ 100 M settlement & Palacios,TX License Cancellation, The Commission has started acting like the old God fearing FCC We all grew up with, doing what they are supposed to do, enforce communication rules and regulations, holding licensee's responsible for their actions and going back over a decade in their research to determine the fact's of some case's, and by all indications the Tiger is still hungry, word to the wise. "DONT FEED THE KITTY" It does seem curious that this apparent awakening comes close on the heals of a new President and impending personnel changes at the FCC, perhaps they are trying to keep their job's by actually doing them, We can only hope, this is not a flash in the pan. and it send's a strong message to licensee's to make sure your house is in order.

Maybe the "new sheriff" will investigate all the translators that have been moved in fraudulently. Many of them were never built out at their prior sites. Several claimed to be rebroadcasting stations they had no authority to rebroadcast.

The above statement doesn't sound right. Fraudulently moved? Never built? Rebroadcasting what they had no authority to broadcast? Sure, there's a bad apple or two but... can you support with actual examples?

Can anyone within easy earshot of K287BQ Freeport 104.9 tell me if it's on the air, and if so, what it's broadcasting?

I can tell you with certainty, it does not have permission to rebroadcast the station listed on its license, because no translator has permission to rebroadcast that station, and hasn't for at least several years.
