A New Star Trek Movie?

I heard on tv a few weeks ago. That they were looking for actors to play Kirk, Spock, McCoy. Along with others from the original series. And that Shatner was not happy he won't be in the new film. So is this film just a rumor? Or will it happen? I have enjoyed all Trek movies. And I was hoping they would continue with Picard & Riker. But who knows
what Paramount has in mind for Trek fans?

Does anyone here know what the NCC means? In reference to NCC-1701? I have been stumped on this for many years.

Yes, it's true. The film, titled "Star Trek 11" will hit the theaters next April. Filming's done, and post-production is under way. Zachary Quinto from "Heroes" is playing a young Spock, Leonard Nimoy is playing old Spock, and J.J. Abrams directed.

Also, it's never been formally established on-screen but several novels explain NCC as Naval Construction Contract.

From what I read, the "1701" part was the house number across the street from where Gene Roddenberry grew up.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you're at least A YEAR LATE on this! This movie has already been shot and is in the can, with a release date pushed back to next summer (was supposed to be Christmas).
this has been in the works for 3 years.

Do a simple google search. There's even a viral website.
