a new wave in Northeastern Ohio?

Is it possible another FM station in northeastern Ohio will pick up the smooth jazz format recently abandoned by WNWV 107.3?

As crazy as that might sound to those who don't like the format: maybe.

As much as I like the format, I don't see another Cleveland station picking it up. Not as long as most of the market's radio stations are in the hands of big corporate radio. To the bean counters at these companies, the format simply isn't viable anymore. 107.3 is part of a locally owned radio company, and they (apparently) didn't see the format as a huge money maker, either.

Smooth Jazz will only live on the Web

ALL music formats will migrate to the web eventually.

AM/FM will be home for all news/sports/talk/weather/infomercials and urban. I'll say again...think of AM/FM like UHF/VHF, if you can remember that far back!

Get used to it! I have. :)
