A new way to podcast...sort of...

Has anybody ever heard of the website Chirbit? http://www.chirbit.com

If you haven't, it's like an audio version of YouTube.

You upload up to 120 MB of MP3 files at a time, or record yourself for five minutes at a time.

I use Chirbit to upload five different weekly audio webcasts (a.k.a. podcasts) that can be found at http://www.chirbit.com/ThompsonAudioNetwork

You must have Adobe Flash Player 10 & Adobe AIR installed on your computer to listen to these shows.

I also have a website dedicated to my programming, and it has an archive of my previous shows:

You can find the Network's website at:
https://www.sites.google.com/site/ThompsonAudioNetwork

or just Google "Thompson Audio Network"

If you like my shows, and you're on Facebook, here's the link to my Facebook group for the network:http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_159328860787786

So please, give my shows a listen and tell me what you think...

I see the 68 views, but why haven't any of you responded to my post?

I just want someone to follow up with me on this subject...

Are you trying the Chirbit website to do your own podcasts?

What do you think of Chirbit?

Have you heard my podcasts, and what you you think of them?

These are just a few things I would like answered...

Thanks,

Jonathan E. "Jet" Thompson

I have tried Chirbit. The service is ok, but for my purposes Divshare is superior in every way for blog and podcast support. They offer free accounts, which is more than enough for me. You get 5 Gb of storage and 10 Gb of downloads per month with the free plan. Your 10 Gb of downloads renew every 30 days. Check it out at http://www.divshare.com

I just took their virtual tour. It just looks to me like the internet's version of a "portable storage unit" instead of a quick and easy way to create, listen to, or share audio. It probably serves your purpose, but since I've put a lot into Chirbit already, there's no since in up and moving all my shows to another site. Like the old adage says: If it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Chirbit is an interesting concept. The 5-minute limit is a problem for a lot of people.

That's why I record with Audacity and upload with Chirbit...

We broadcast on Ustream.tv (3-hour limit with video) and TalkShoe.com (5-hour limit.) TalkShoe is a telephone bridge, so the quality is terrible, but after we record the, we upload the local recording, which can be as high as 128K MP3 mono or stereo.

For short snippets, I'd use audioboo.fm. However, you cannot upload long files there.

I don't understand why Chirbit has the 5-minute limit. Many of the podcasters I follow do a live 30-minute to 2-hour show streamed live on Ustream or Justin.tv, record the show live, edit it, upload it as a podcast to libsyn.com, and use the RSS feed to list it in iTunes.

Not to sound like I'm hurling flames but WHY do you always seem to feel that people MUST reply to all your posts simply because they view them? I can never seem to wrap my head around that
I just want someone to follow up with me on this subject...
You always seem to want this with almost all your posts

BTW as a side note.....PUT YOUR SIGNATURE IN YOUR PROFILE like the rest of us have ours.....

Cheers :D
