A New York Doll on CBS FM!

driving home at 1:20 this morning,CBS FM blasting, and there's "Hot Hot Hot' by Buster Poindexter....and the air talent identifies 'Buster Poindexter, also known as David Johansen, the lead singer for The New York Dolls for all those years in the early 70s"....!!!!
very groovy......you CBS FM guys visiting the message boards again, eh?...
David also had a great early 80s hit with the "Animals Medley"(We Gotta Get Out Of This Place/Don't Bring Me Down/It's My Life)....
...dig THAT one out of the cobwebs and the MTV generation will be quite pleased....

Probably Joe Causi who reported that factoid on the air if it were during the overnight shift...

see,Mary, you actually like something by a New York Doll!
(after a long period, The Dolls reunited in the past few years and have released two studio albums and a 'live' album in the past five years or so..)

:) LOL I never knew he was a DOLL LOL I guess next time NY Dolls are around, I will give them a try!!! :)

"HOT HOT HOT" Good song for this weather too

Actually, sister station WCBS-AM played that song shortly after 2 PM after the temperature broke 100 degrees.

This is the schlock that's beating out WINS in some areas.

For crying out loud...

when David tours with The Dolls, he does NY Dolls material old and new(fantabulous four on the floor rocknroll)
when he tours as David Johansen, he does the 'blues' show(with the Harry Smiths) and he does the 'Buster Poindexter' material as well, with a few NY Dolls tunes thrown into the set...
