Mill Creek Entertainment has come out with a nice collection for the vintage television on DVD collecter. The 50 movie pack historic classics collection is a set of 12 dvds that contain what looks like 50 movies about the bible and other historic events. What we don't know at first glance, is that a good many of them are really old Westinghouse Studio one showes as well as Climax and Plymouth Playhouse it is a nice find.

They're likely all in the public-domain and are kinescope recordings, but I suspect that this is the first time most of the 50 or so programs in that DVD box set have ever been released on DVD or video.

If there are a few real classics among the bunch, it might be a good way to acquaint yourself with the "Golden Age" of live television drama.

Maybe Mill Crek will follow it up with a box set of some of the greatest live TV dramas from the 1950's.
