A note to Paula Nelson.

I appreciate the debate as well clinger...and no I don't think it is passe', but antiquated (if I may parse even more that definition) for these times and no one (legally/regulation wise) cares or knows how to enforce the the statment/phrase.

I am glad you bear the community in mind with your show, I do the same, but maybe Rush thinks he is as well with "his" community...how do we define it? That is the question first amendment experts (if they could figure out in terms of what is offensive/community standards) would be even more wealthy than they already are ask everyday.

I can disagree with you without being disagreeable, we just have different takes and perceptions.

I appreciate Howard Stern the same way I appreciate Rush...great messengers even if their message is distasteful.

god D@MN clinger! well said! wish i worked for you!

i think people in radio sometimes forget how stupid the average american is. for gods sake people are willing to vote for someone just because their favorite celeb endorsed them!

radio is extremely powerful, i think KSAC only failed because of the management (come on paula, getting metro traffic to do AIRBORNE REPORTS was an INSANE waste of money) AND because of the signal of the station. Air America failed because of their internal politics. not because they were progressive, and you can argue all you want about how it never gets ratings, but when it comes down to it- thats wrong. KGO has some pretty liberal programming and they get great ratings. Why? Because the station has AMAZING SIGNAL, GREAT MANAGEMENT, ANNND GREAT PROGRAMMING. you can't just have one of these (great programming, in KSAC's case) and succeed.

i've been corrected- metro doesn't charge for their reports... but there are numerous other mistakes that were made in terms of management so my point still stands. ;)
