A Novel Concept: An Actual Radio Question...What the HELL is Cool 105.7 Doing?

We now interupt this pissing match to bring you an actual question about radio that does not involve someone grinding an axe.

What's the deal with Cool 105.7? Footloose? Bette Davis Eyes? "Iowa's Greatest Hits of The 60's, 70's and 80's?"

"Oldies" stations obviously have to move into new territory as their audience ages, but it sounds relatively to totally chaotic at the moment.

Anyone heard? Any insight?

It's almost like a Jack type format. I've heard them play "Driver's Seat" by Sniff'in the Tears 3 times in the past week. Other lost classic's are Chilliwack (I've heard 2 different songs from them), "The Stroke" (which some of there older listeners are probably having) and "Paradise by the dash-board light"... (thought I was at a Wedding Dance).

It's crazy.. but a little refreshing. More like the songs from when I grew up.

I agree with the "Jack" definition. Almost like a jack of the 70's and 80's. Does sound VERY chaotic and might spike a little...but there is a reason most of the songs they are playing were "one hit wonders" that you never hear anymore. They are fun to listen to once.....but if I hear them 3 times in one week (ie - "Driver's Seat") I don't want to hear it for another 3 years!

At least people will not confuse it with 107.1.
