A odd question

In 1970 or 1980´s I saw a film on TV there the action was about a DJ on a small radiostation in the country somewhare in USA.

What I remember from this film was among others, a scene there the DJ take out two Altec A7 "Voice Of Theatre" speakers outside (backyard) the radiostation, and play music very loud, when he drunk a bottle of wine, sitting in the backyard.

A other scena was when he mike up the bad weather with rain and thunder outside the radio stadions window, and use it in live on the air.

If somebody of you, remember this film, and know the film titel, please let me know.

Was the DJ stalked by a listener? The only movie I can think of is "Play Misty for Me." However, I don't remember most of the scenes that you're describing.

Thanks for your fast replay,

ChiefOperator,

I search for the "Play Misty for Me" and find a "terror" movie with Clint Eastwood, but it was not this type of film.

SirRoxalot,

The "FM" movie I find, was not the right film either, but I have not saw that, so I will try to get this one also,
Thanks for the tip.

The film I serch for are maybee a "low budget production" ??, and what I rember it was a older AM-station style, somewhare in the country in a desolate place.
In the end of the storry, I remember that the station headquarters (in the big town) whant to close down the small station, because some disagree they have, but the DJ refuse that.
In the end they cut the outside power line, to shut down the transmitting.

"A Face in the Crowd" with Andy Griffith had some radio scenes and a personality gone bizzare... but I don't remember any of the scenes with Altec speakers, etc.

Take a look at "Brother, Where Art Thou". I don't remember if the speakers in the little station were Altecs or not... but they surely were rural.

Its def not FM...i have it and just rewatched it. "Oh brother where art thou" has a small radio scene but its short and very old equipment. The scene you describe sounds familiar, but I cant place it. Guess it will mean some IMDB time for me

Thanks guy's for your very nice help, I have look at them on the You Tube, but non of them are the right one.

If somebody of have more suggestion, please let me know.

What's the name of the movie where a black DJ on a small station out in the middle of nowhere is using the airwaves to communicate with some outlaw running around the desert in a muscle car? I remember the end of the movie where the car slams into the bucket of a huge bulldozer and explodes....I think.

Vanishing Point?

Thats right! Barry Newman stars as Kowalski. Cleavon Little is "Super Soul" the DJ. One of my favorite movies of all time. The car is a 1970 Dodge Challenger. If you pay close attention at the end after the car hits the bulldozers, you will notice that it is the back end of a 1967 Camaro and not the Dodge Challenger.

Guys,

Thanks for your suggestiuons, but sorry non of them was this I search for.

Of course, if I find the right movie, I let you know.

Vanishing Point

Vanishing point was on cable today. I (finally) got to see it from end to end. The last time I saw it was in 1972 at the drive in with a new girlfriend-and we spent very little time watching the movie.

I wonder where Liz is today *G*
