A party is coming to Atlantic City

If this is going to happen, then why am I thinking DJ Expo? (which is mid-August) :)

But seriously, the scene in Atlantic City has REALLY picked up BIG over the last few years for the twenty-thirtysomething crowd. It's no longer just a place for senior citizens to hop on a day bus, gamble and head back. Clubs for the younger crowd have been REALLY sprouting up there....Club 40/40, Providence, The Pool At Harrahs, Casbah's at Trump Taj Mahal, The Foundation Room at the House of Blues (Showboat).

Atlantic City pulls in the NYC market, the Philly market and all points in-between. People have to drive there, so it would be something to tune into your FM dial and hear that "PartyFM" brand en route. Outside of A/C you have a suburban crowd (Absecon, Pleasantville) as well as beach communities (Long Beach Island, Wildwood) that are the perfect target audience for such a station.

It may do well :)

My money is on a retrans of LI's Party.

102.7 was rumored to flip on the 4th of July.

It'll be interesting as much of south Jersey will have 2 dance stations: Z88.9 and Party 102.7

I don't think 102.7 will go pure CHR, as there is 95.1 WAYV and 99.3 Kiss FM, plus the Philly CHRs.

You also got Hit on 106.5 getting a piece of the AC area.

Hit 106.5 is not too strong in AC and frequently gets clobbered by Mix 106.5 in Baltimore. 102.7 also gets clobbered by Jack FM from Baltimore. Tropo interference peaks in the summer, the same season that tourism peaks.

It's official, AC is going to be WILD this weekend! And they'll boost the signal so no more interference from Baltimore.

From FMQB...

FMQB has learned exclusively that Atlantic Broadcasting is launching a new CHR/Dance station in Atlantic City this weekend, as Modern Rock WJSE will become WWAC (WILD 102.7).

"We are very excited to debut the markets first high energy station in the party capital of the North East, Atlantic City," said Atlantic Broadcasting’s John Caracciolo. World Famous DJ Vic Latino, also part of the Atlantic team, adds, "There is a huge hole in this market for this music, we have created a radio station that is exciting, fun and local, this is what radio used to be."

Atlantic is launching an extensive marketing campaign over all of South Jersey, with many announcements in the next few weeks of WILD 102.7 live broadcasts, appearances and concerts. The new format will debut at 9:55 p.m. tomorrow night, after a simulcast of the world famous Grucci Fireworks show from the boardwalk.

In addition to the new format, WILD 102.7 will also debut a brand new signal. "We have invested a significant amount of money to improve the signal of 102.7 FM, moving the antenna into downtown Atlantic City and adding all new digital transmission equipment, this will be one of the best FM signals in the market," said Mike Ferriola, the group’s Director of Engineering.

May sound even better since this is a whole new brand done separately dedicating to it's market. If this market had Boss 97, The Buzz, and Hot 106.3, then it has no problem handling Wild.

How about "Wild Wild West" by Will Smith. The fireworks will take place right outside the Bally's Wild Wild West casino

Sounds more like an old school rhythmic/chr rather than the dance leaning rhythmic/chr like Party on Long Island, though its early and as someone pointed on the NJ board, similar to how the Bu started out

1st five songs

1. Usher "OMG" remix
2. BEP "I got a feeling"
3. Jay-Z feat Rhianna "Run this town"
4. Pink "Lets Get this Party Started"
5. Travis McCoy feat Bruno Mars "Billionaire"
