Rapking, what do you do for a living? The specifics don't matter, it's simply no matter what it is you do, let's say I set up shop across the street without any permits or licenses necessary. Then I do a cash only business, and pay no taxes. Then I start to take your customers away, and your income.
Will you still say that I rule? If "Hot 97" really hot 87 etc. want to be on the air, as I've said many times before, I'm sure there's no shortage of AM outlets in the area that will GLADLY either broker time or LMA the entire station to them. What? AM isn't as clear as FM? Well, that's the way the ball bounces, but at least it's LEGAL.
Either the FCC enforces it's rules... and stops nitpicking that my tower was a slightly too light shade of aviation orange, even though it was under 199ft and not near an airport and get to the real problems.
But that will never happen. The best way to get them off the air is target the advertisers. I've called the Wilbur Theatre after they ran spots on 87.7 to let them know they were supporting an illegal operation.
Wilber Theater still has adds on 87.7 and this saturday Wilber Theater show is SOLDOUT ( Wilber Theater add a second show and it maybe soldout as I write this ). Having adds on 87.7 = BIG BUCKS !!!WNTIRadio said:They didn't know it was a pirate radio station, I think they have since distanced themselves from 87.7.
What really should be done is move all channel 6 to UHF allotments, then everybody can get 10 watts on 87.7 and 87.5, all you have to do is submit a form to the FCC and it's yours. It's up to you to hash out interference problems with other operators. Of course, it will turn into CB, with guys running a kilowatt or much more out of their trucks.
If my company is selliing crap and dont give a s--t about the public, any means necessary to shut my company down . Act of 96 and Big radio companies ruin the radio.WNTIRadio said:Okay, so we'll try this again, slightly more constructive.
