A Poll: Let's have some fun...

OK....we're all guys here. Well....almost all. So, how about a fun little poll, with some very simple choices: *

(1) Ginger or Mary Ann?

(2) Jeannie or Samantha?

(3) Jennifer or Bailey?

(4) Chrissy or Janet? **

(5) Jill, Kris, Kelly, or Sabrina? ***

* (Based on the characters, not the actresses...)

** (I'm sticking with the originals here: Cindy and Terri don't count. Additionally, let it be known that anyone putting forth a write-in vote for Mrs. Roper will be permanently banned from this site...)

*** (Yes, yes, I know about Tiffany and Julie. They didn't make the cut. They are akin to Joe Besser and Joe DeRita...)

Be prepared to vehemently defend your choices -- men have been known to come to blows over these questions...

1. Mary Ann (just naturally beautiful, Ginger is too high maintainence)
2. Samantha (Jeannie is better looking but is sort of an airhead and that would get old after a few years)
3. Bailey (She made those glasses look good)
4. Janet (See #2 above, substitute Chrissy)
5. ? (I must not watch that much TV after all)

I can't agree that Jeannie is "better looking." Elizabeth Montgomery had a more refined beauty, and since she was one of my first TV "crushes" as a kid, I'll have to give her my vote.

I saw Barbara Eden last night on a PBS retrospective on early TV sit-coms. She looks very youthful, and attractive at age 74. She's probably had "work done," but if so - it was skillfully done.

My only other vote - Bailey, without a doubt.

All the others - no opinion.

1. Mary Ann
2. Samantha
3. Bailey
4. Janet
5. Not really sure. I didn't watch Charlie's Angels much.

I usually liked the cute girls or women better than the glamorous or sexy ones.

1. Mary Ann
2. Jeannie
3. Bailey
4. Janet
5. No preference

If you can find video of it anywhere, check out a very young and very hot Barbara Eden in the 1950s series "How to Marry a Millionaire". Her character's name is Loco Jones. Yes, Barbara Eden was young once.

Where has Jan Smithers been lately, anyway?

You didn't ask but Morticia Addams vs. Lilly Munster.

I'd prefer Moriticia

1. Mary Ann (always found her to be cute)
2. Samantha (this question was the toughest of all - both were gorgeous)
3. Jennifer (a close call, but COME ON!)
4. Chrissy (who has turned out to be a good "long term investment")
5. Kelly

I suppose it's only fair that I answer my own poll questions....

(1) Mary Ann, no contest. Ginger was full of herself to the Nth degree. Mary Ann was adorable, had good common sense, and would probably be not only a good lover, but loyal and faithful as well. Plus, as a farm girl, she wouldn't shirk from sharing heavy chores (she's half my size, but probably twice as strong...).

(2) On one hand, who in their most sexist fantasies wouldn't want a gorgeous genie calling you "Master" and doing your bidding? But that kind of slavish devotion could wear out its welcome very quickly. Plus, it would be hard to keep her well-hidden (look at all the trouble she caused Tony). Samantha, OTOH, would be a good companion and partner, blend in to society well, and keep her powers under control (it was her relatives that caused most of Darrin's headaches on the show), though an occasional nose-twitch might occasionally be appropriate. (For instance, if you had money on the Cardinals last night, a tiny subtle twitch might have kept one of Holmes' feet out of the end zone....) ;D

(3) Bailey, Bailey, BAILEY! There's a smoldering cauldron of passion behind those horn-rims. And a damn fine mind as well. A REAL woman. Jennifer might be fun for a one-night stand, but she expects too much for it (she didn't furnish that luxury apartment on a secretary's salary) and I suspect making love to her would be about the same as boinking a blow-up doll.

(4) Janet, by default. Not that I find anything particularly special about her, but c'mon, Chrissy's photo is in the encyclopedia under "airhead."

(5) Jill is all teeth and hair, and Kelly is WAY out of my league. Kris is a looker, but I have to go with Sabrina. (Can you tell that I tend to go for the brainy girls?) Anyway, I had quite the crush on Kate Jackson back in the day, to the eternal dismay and disbelief of my friends, who all had Farrah's poster over their beds...

...hmmm...why leave our lesbian sisters out of eligibility? ;-) ...

...Mary Ann...

(2) Jeannie or Samantha?

...Samantha...

(3) Jennifer or Bailey?

...Bailey...

(4) Chrissy or Janet?

...Terri...

(5) Jill, Kris, Kelly, or Sabrina?

...Sabrina...

...and thank you for not asking: Sister Bertrille or Sister Ana?...

1) Mary Ann....less maintenance and the added bonus of what she grows in the Kansas farmland
2) Tough choice....pass
3) Bailey but wouldn't kick Jennifer out of bed
4) Janet by a slim margin
5) Definitively Kelly but Sabrina the smart angel would be on deck

Mrs. Roper would be into experimentation as per the latest Cosmo ;D

Let me add any character played by Kim Richards, or Kristy McNichol.

If memory serves me correctly didn't Jan Smithers break up Brolin's first marriage? I remember reading that she chashed after Brolin for a long time until he left his wife and married her.

I COMPLETELY agree with whomever mentioned Kim Richards! ;D And Nicole Eggert (mentioned below)!

What about:

-Facts of Life: Blair, Jo, Tootie, or Natalie
-Laverne & Shirley: Laverne or Shirley
-Baywatch: Shauni, CJ, Caroline, or Stephanie (they aren't all show "originals" but so what)
-Charles in Charge: Jamie or Sarah (from the '2nd' family in syndication...and I apologize to everyone who now has the theme song running through their heads :D )
-Hill Street Blues: Fay Furillo or Joyce Davenport

You mean that there is a recorded instance where someone actually found LaVerne and/or Joyce "Cold Fish" Davenport uh, appealing? ??? :p

Has anyone ever noticed that Veronica Hamil (Joyce Davenport) and Bebe Neuwirth (Lilith on Cheers) have never been seen together? Possible conspiracy? ???

(1) Mary Ann

(2) Samantha

(3) Bailey

(4) Chrissy

(5) Jill, Kris, Kelly, or Sabrina? *** I'm totally drawing a blank on which one was which. I'll say Kate Jackson.

Farrah=Jill (left after 1st season; guest-starred several times after that)
Cheryl=Kris (joined in season 2)
Jaclyn=Kelly (entire series)
Kate=Sabrina (left after 3rd season)

Shelley Hack=Tiffany (season 4)
Tanya Roberts=Julie (season 5)

And we can't forget David Doyle who played John Bosley the entire series or John Forsythe who provided the voice of Charlie the entire series. They were the real hotties of the show. :p
