A Possible Replacement For The Talk 1200 Morning Man

With sagging ratings , Talk 1200 should consider handing the morning show over to the North Shore's # 1 Polka DJ - Bob Litwin.

Bob is heard locally on WESX 1230 AM from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday's. Bob has been on the WESX airwaves since 1967.

Looking at the latest ratings book, WESX's numbers during that time slot crush Talk 1200.

Don Rose once had a record label called Eat Records out of Salem which had local bands like
The Commercials and Rubber Rodeo. Later he started a much larger label called Rykodisc but in
the old days I used to boast that Eat was the only label that could boast it was next to
Litwin's Polka Record Shop!

WXKS shows no signs of changing. Yes the ratings are not the best but they must make
some kind of money, carrying the ads run during Rush, Beck, Hannity, etc. They do so well
that they can afford Katz and Severin (which is two more daily local hosts than they were
able to afford during the Prog Talk days). Admittedly their ratings may not be much higher
than they were then, but not bad for such a "blue" state.

Hey, Scott said you were inimitable--not necessarily good (or bad). However, your taking his adroit comment as a personal compliment says volumes--about you. Now, my less adroit comment also says little or nothing about whether I think you are good or bad, but it does say that I think your own comment reveals you to be egotistical ::)
 
@Bob Just wondering why your for this particular guy to be 1200's Morning man? Does he have decent talk credentials? Is WXKS going Polka, and looking for a Polka DJ? Just cuz??

Anyone else tired of posters that post constantly, but don't ever really say anything???
 
Oh I say a lot and hopefully it's relevant whether it's news, speculation, etc. :) We have a fun board and it's fun to meet up with some of them (such as Dan, who I last saw at Gary Francis' pool
party).

Told by sources in biulding management at 10 Cabot Road in Medford today that Jeff Katz continues to park his Mercedes in a
handicapped spot and he shows no signs of having difficulty walking throughout the building.

Now Jeff boasts that he used to be a police officer, do you think he had some help getting that placard ?
 
He can afford a Mercedes? Now, if Ent. chooses not to renew Howie Carr you wonder if he'd
win up at 1200 or 96.9; the latter prob. more likely though I guess RKO has the right to keep
him in their "prison" as he calls it if they pick up his option again. Or will we see more legal
wrangling this fall?

I was in that bldg once a couple yrs ago when a radio geek pal of mine from Ohio wanted to
see if they had any bumper stickers. They weren't talk 1200 yet (went talk 2 yrs ago this month)
