A Potential Tragedy Looming

Okay I've got your attention.
I was listening to BCN this afternoon, and heard the woman say that Neanderpol was coming up at 2.
Great, I thought, since I can't recall if I'd ever heard him before.
I tune back in on the ride back from Cape Cod, and I hear him, and realize this is the guy whose name I couldn't figure out for the life of me when I'd heard him say it before! It sounded like Something-Paul, I didn't know what.
But Paul, you have the sound for the station. Hearing you, it reminds me of the old days at the Rock of Boston.
That guy that called you around 3 PM, gushing like a little girl about how good you sound, and what a damn shame it's gonna be if you leave the market? That was me. I was on the expressway when you picked up the call, and heading into the tunnel, and knew I'd lose ya so rather than introduce myself properly, I used the few seconds I had to relate what I hope came across as respect for a professional. Like I told you on the phone, good luck in whatever you do, God Bless, and the market will be that much less if you leave.

A TRAGEDY?.....SLOWWW DOWN!,.I mean Marshall is about as good as a talentless hack gets but a tragedy?.........Pats losing in Denver was a tragedy, New kid's on the block breaking up, THAT was a tragedy, "together in Electric dreams" being played at Sunny Joe White's funeral, THAT was a tragedy,.......but MARSHALL?............. to quote the late Orson Wells "come on fellas, you're losing your heads"

LOl

He's damned good he paid his dues, and HUGE dues around the country to get back to Boston, it is a bad beat for him to have to leave the market.

lol.....nicely said. i don't listen to music that often, but i can tell when someone knows their stuff, and when someone is trying to "fake it til they make it," to coin a phrase an old girlfriend says used to be her mantra with me.
Oh well. Back to bland, vanilla music radio, brought to you by.....

Thank You for the kind words.

I remember the call and it made me feel really good.

I love working for WBCN. I'm not going to lie about it. It's the station that made me want to do this for a living. And if I have to leave, it will be an extremely sad day for me because I have real passion for the station, and want to be part of it's future successes.

Thanks for your kind words, and the call, and most importantly for listening on your way to the Cape!

...which is a strange destination in January.

=)

Listen Carter! Let the man speak. He's obviously brilliant! It's not like I have a two-balcony condo in Cambridge I'm selling.

You keep quoting Orson Wells, and people are going to think you belong on "ding ding..Jib radio"

Who knows, maybe 'BCN will have an opening for you sometime in the future and you could come back someday.

Meanwhile, you don't have to leave this board just because you'll no longer physically be in the area. Many former Boston people still post here from different locations.

Best wishes on the new Entercom gig!

Maybe. You "never say never" (Romeo Void 1981). If not BCN, I'd still prefer to stay home. But, I've traveled all over the US once...why not pack it up and go again. It's all an adventure.

I'll certainly keep looking in. But, and I'm sure most people would agree. I'll have my hands full getting to know my new surroundings, and my time would be better spent concentrating on my gig. This is a great place to go when you have nothing else to do...or you're avoiding setting your home up for sale.

Thanks for paying attention ;)

..ok back to remodeling my basement stairs :)

Today's 'JIB (740 AM Stereo) is all automated, no gigs there, except for when owner Bob Bittner occasionally does airshifts himself!
