A Question for David Eduardo (KDZA)

David,

Any reason or ideas as to why our local classic hits station (KDZA 107.9) has switched formats to Metal / Hard Rock? That leaves our area with only KOOL 105 out of Denver (weak signal strength) or 2 AM stations (AM 950 or 1350) for oldies. Just disappointed that we would lose out on a decent CH station for some mysterious reason.

I believe one reason is the "Lewis and Floorwax" show being so popular. It's already aired in Denver, 60 miles north on another station.

It's likely the format was a less than easy sell, and given the demos, not getting easier. On the other had, it was #2 in billings, but at a level only half that of KSTY and they may have thought that rock is more needed.
