I am the music director for WGLS. I'm in a weird place where, we went heavier in our daytime format to where a typical hour would look like this----
Genesis
Blind Melon
Journey
Nirvana
Melissa Ethridge
Def Leppard
Red Hot Chillis
Harvey Danger
Madonna
Now, we went and added more recent rock and alt rock hits, and typically, WGLS always had demographics that were usually 70% Male, 30% Female. Well, the last two books (the fall just released today to us) flipped, and the listenership went down overall.
I would like to ask you why you think, seemingly out of the blue, we lost a tremendous amount of male listeners, but bolstered in female listeners. Mind you- we have added a lot more in the way of 2000s hits- such as Kelly Clarkson, Coldplay, Kings of Leon... it's been eating at me. I would love to hear your input. Thanks.
