A Radio Infection

It happened two nights ago on a small station on 92.1 in Farmersville.
The infection caused a drop of the right channel of audio, no one treated the disease. It has now spread to 92.1's sister 95.3.
Both stations are now missing their right channel audio.

Why didn't they treat it before it spread?

Re: A Radio Infection-in North TEXAS

Hey, KXEZ 92.1 has sound like SH________t for a long time. I guess KXEZ station Eng. is not listening to station...or they have NO money to fix the audio/signal problem. Now, KHYI 95.3 has been having low audio plus they sound off freq. some too. One more station having problems is KETR 88.9 Commerce, TX at Texas A@M-Commerce. They are having low audio and left and right channel problems. I know KETR 88.9 problems started after they turned off HD signal. KETR was running in HD-1 until a few months ago...do not know why they drop HD-1 off. KETR sounded GREAT in HD!!! I guess I better run!!! Talk to all more later!!!

The right channel on 95.3 has been at a noticeably lower level than the left for more than two years. The "engineer" at KXEZ & KHYI is also the 'Owner - Operator' (I have seen a business card with that title) Ken Jones. That is why when things don't work properly or quit working completely there is no one to remedy the ills. They be illin'.

KHYI needs an upgrade, so it can cover more of Dallas.

KHYI is licensed to Howe, Texas. That's in Grayson County, 50 miles north of Dallas. It's not supposed to cover Dallas. FWIW, KHYI has already gotten its upgrade... in 2003 from 7,400 to 15,000 watts. (Don't tell Mr. Jones that it's 15K. He thinks and has been telling folks it's 50,000 since 2003.)

Yes, charles, it is crappy. Especially if you are in Dallas south of I-635 and it's going to stay crappy. If you want to listen to it where the signal is better, you need to get closer to the transmitter. It ain't movin' closer to you.
