A Radio-Info Who's Who

So who's who on radio-info.com? It's a great forum with a lot a ideas AND opinions exchanged. Thought it would be fun and interesting if any of you posters, regulars or otherwise, would let the rest of us know just a little about your qualifications for expressing those ideas/opinions, not that one need be qualified in the world of radio to do a post. I read a lot and wonder, how does that dude or dudette know so much or why is he/she so far off base? Staying within your own privacy concerns and the TOP of this web site, post a little about yourself. Still on the air? Retired? Jock, PD, GM, owner, consultant, living in Seattle area, et al. Keep it short 'n sweet.
I'll start if off by saying I was a top rated PM drive personality in a NW medium market for nearly 30 years. Along the way, I was part owner of an AM/FM combo, PD, MD (devised some number grabbing formats over the years--true MOR, Oldies, CHR, Full Service). Now retired(1999) from on air work, but still doing free lance radio spots, tv vo's and corporate video narrations. Received numerous production awards over the years. Now living on the Eastside of Lake Wa. THANKS!

Hi Johny947....I assumed there would be some prophetic posts such as yours. Can't wait for post #6. Thanks for your input.

My topic—‘A Radio-Info Who’s Who,’ is, I hope, not an invasion of anyone’s anonymous postings; only a quick credentials check of WHY one poster knows this and that and another without any real experience in the biz is just posting for the sake of his or her opinion. I have noted earlier postings questioning why some of the regular posters have Disappear(ed) (Great song by INXS!). PDs. GMs, MDs moving out of the market or just not posting anymore on the Seattle board? Just curious, that’s all.
THANKS

Dude, you're a little impatient. It comes over like you expected everyone to reply within an eight-hour period (first post to your last post).

If you truly wanted to know about the ones not here anymore, you should have just directly asked in the first place.

AMFM and BushwickBill moved out of town. IKnowItAll is still in town, but has chosen to remain dormant.

But it's awfully amusing to see all these new people signing on. All within the same time frame of a morning show's arrival here in Seattle. I'm told this person loved to flood the AllAccess boards too. Sad, as the show might be a little better if the person didn't spend so much time here.

Many thanks for the update, AQH. Patience, indeed, is a virture.

For what it's worth, 70 radio, this is a good topic. It's a shame nobody's replying.

I'm just a listener. I think the business of radio is interesting. I don't think I've ever seen such a cutthroat type of industry and I find it really fascinating.

i used to work at a small market radio station that was swallowed up by corporate radio (clear channel). i am a fan of radio (have been since the 80's). i live in the centralia/chehalis wa. area

Me too. I have come hear looking for information on some of my favorite DJs (I mean "talent") and stations.

Here We Go...

The beauty of anonymous boards is people are free to speak their mind
without reprisal. Radio-Info has been careful not to release names in this
market and others. The forum is much more lively and uncensored this way.
I am an air-talent and speak from that perspective.

I hear that AM-FM moved south as did Iknowitall. Both now work in the same city for the same company.

..or the guilty.... in reference to the alleged self serving posts on this and other topic sections. Makes for, let's say, interesting reading.
