My best friend transfered the old VHS tapes of episodes of NBC's Days of Our Lives from January-May 1986 taped from WYFF 4 in Greenville, SC (which had the Red/Blue Arrow 4 logo, later changed to Gold in the Fall of 1986) into DVD. On the episode recorded from
May 14, 1986 starts with an NBC News Special Report anchored by John Palmer and features Mikhail Gorbachev giving the speech on Soviet Television blaming our country for being liars after the Chernobyl inncodent a month earlier. It has NBC promos (mostly with the Proud "N" logo from 1979-86) including Highway To Heaven with the late Michael Landon, Blacke's Magic with post-Barney Miller Hal Linden and the late Harry Morgan, Another World, Santa Barbara, Today (then hosted by Bryant Gumbel and Jane Pauley and they were doing a report on Cruise Ships), and Fast Copy (with Ted Turner, and Phil Collins who recently retired from music due to hearing loss and health problems), and has the white WYFF-TV ident at the end of Fast Copy promo. Also, it has a promo of Donahue (with Red/Blue Arrow 4 logo and Proud "N" logo) followed by NewsCenter4 promo (with one of the first appearances of the current six feathered NBC logo and the Red/Blue Arrow 4 logo). At the end of DOOL episodes from 1986, it has the 1982-88 Columbia Pictures Television logo (with Coke byline). And one the episodes has the opening from 1972-93 minus the Screen Gems 1972 copyright disclaimer on the screen.
