"The RAB Convention - Not Your Father's Radio Sales Convention"

"There were discussions of using your website, streaming, podcasts, text messaging, and audio on cell phones to increase the financial performance of broadcast stations. There were discussions of HD Radio and some of the opportunities that service might offer if and when it starts getting consumer acceptance."

"NAB head David Rehr called HD Radio "a top priority" for the NAB."

"In-Stat: Digital Radio Set to Take Off"

"In 2006, 73 percent of respondents to an In-Stat U.S. consumer survey were aware of HD Radio on some level."

They still think, consumers are not aware of HD Radio ! What does one expect, from a bunch of bungling, open-bar slouches ! :D

Yeah, Rehr was spouting some nonsense about a "crusade for radio." But students of history know what happened during the Crusades. The implication, of course, is that anyone who is against HD Radio or media consolidation is somehow 'anti-radio.' This is ridiculous. If anything, those who are critics of both are very pro-radio and want to see what is the best of radio preserved.

It's bad technology and bad management that are killing radio. The NAB have been "crusaders" for both.

Thanks, Cal. But all of us have, in one way or another, been saying the same things all over this board. I just happen to find most of the disingenuous comments and press releases by the former beer peddler (aka, David Rehr) irritating.

Or maybe it's just an allergic reaction to silliness committed by the over-paid.
