DRE and Cam D have no life. They are stillborn.

HD is projected out to 2020. We are in 2006. Any projection in technology beyond the next 36 to 48 months is absurd.

And, in case you did not notice, the content providers are going to be on WiMax just as they are on terrestrial today.

Yawn.

Yeah, the people here who either already hate IBOC or love it. Neither of which will switch sides, and most of which have a hard time beliving the writings of someone who hasn't even tried HD Radios.

Like I said, I'm glad your posting. It helps HD Radio in a number of ways!
 
Wrong, one person posted that he was going to rethink getting an HD Radio. There are no HD radios to try ! And, HD Radio doesn't solve the content problem with radio - radio's major problem ! :D And, look at all the people, we have chased away with all the rants - one person posted that is is going to stop visiting this site ! It is fun, to keep posting threads/links and watching you all having to take defensive postures ! :D

I don't have to defend anything - IBOC is just a fraudulent technology, that the public needs to be educated to see the truth !

See, I think the public is smart enough to figure HD Radio out on their own, good or bad. You obviously think that the general population is much too stupid to fomulate an opinion without your help.

I wanna see these two guys holding signs in front of Tweeter......sign could read "hash" (with a line thru it). they could chant "say no to IBOC"

and they could mis-tune an analog radio so that their audience can hear the hash themselves.

Speaking of hash (and I don't mean the kind you eat or smoke) John Anderson at his DIY Media site did a wonderful analysis on the NAB's proposal to allow AM stations to own FM translators. Here are a few quotes.

"...a footnote (in the NAB's petition) otherwise plugging digital radio casually drops the comment that AM broadcasters are "encountering ever more interference problems as a result of an increase in ambient noise."

This is the closest NAB will ever come to admitting that "HD" digital radio makes a racket of the AM dial. That's because it takes triple the bandwidth to broadcast a hybrid analog/digital AM signal than it does to broadcast in analog alone. Thus AM stations broadcasting in a hybrid mode have the potential to interfere with three times as many other stations. You can see how this makes a mess as the number of AM stations broadcasting in hybrid mode grows."

"The more powerful AM stations in the largest markets also happen to be the earliest adopters of digital, so the danger is fairly imminent. The FCC currently prohibits the broadcast of hybrid AM signals at night because of this very problem. When it eventually lifts this prohibition, the static-hash will go national."

"Allowing AM stations to implement networks of FM translators is a hedge-bet against digital AM signal interference. AM broadcasters can't whine about being left to languish in an ocean of interference if they're FM broadcasters, too."

I am just tired of you... you post BS, and don't listen to any other side.

HD is on 1000 stations. There are 1000 more signed. These are the biggest stations in America, probably accounting for 80% of all lsitening.

You can whine and moan all you like, but HD is here, and is the standard for digital free radio.

What would you like me to do; our CIA project at work is still waiting the next block of funding, but since I just listen to AM at night, I haven't had the pleasure of hearing digital hash yet.
