A Taste of Boston

I only heard a couple bits of it. If you're into dining out, dating,
wine, nightlife, etc., it may have been of interest but it didn't interest me.
To his credit, Feinburg did tell the listeners that Savage would now be on
at 10 pm (as did Listo Fisher, earlier). Mostly I listened to Laura Ingraham
but I tuned in VERY briefly and wasn't quite into it. One time they talked
on the phone to Celts voice Sean Grande and the phone connection was horrible.

i wasn't expecting to like it... but it was fun at times.

I didn't listen, but when Mike Adams is talking football, or a bc game or something is pre-empting him, I'll be listening to Todd.

sure doesn't fit the station though..

Re: A Waste In Boston

Interesting that "Pug Ugly", a pro-RKO poster (could possibly work at the station) starts this thread. A "Rosa1" who has never posted before likes the show.

People who have already heard Todd Feinberg won't be tuning in. So this new
"show" has an uphill battle to begin with. Howie Carr's following is dwindling,
so the lead in is not what it would have been 3 years or so ago.

Bad timing, bad idea, bad host. As one of the posters said, RKO cares more about ad space than listeners. This is not a good product on a station that has become irrelevant.

Re: A Waste In Boston

what is really irrelevant is the sour grapes posters on this board who attack without regard for reality. Howie Carr is stronger than ever according to recent books, and will only become more dominant now that 96.9 is rebuilding.

Feinburg, Depetro, and the others you attack relentlessly have proven themselves to be talented and fun to listen to.

An unbiased observer can only surmise that it is envy, rather than informed analysis, that drives your constant and tedious negetivity.

Deny reality, spew your venom, and remember that in the end you are as powerless as you feel.

WEll the point you're missing is this: Entercom Boston has been strapped for cash and they have subsisted for the past several years on semi high rated yet prohibative/unappealing content to GET the numbers. Be it D & C, Howie, Osterlind and his meat head comments, the troubles with aaf's on air approach from a yew years ago, although many of which are a few years past the stain still remains.

They are not thought of particullarly well as a place to go to spend the high end ad dollar. NOW they have a client friendly, client oriented, program that tehy can sell like hotcakes. And dont be naive, every radio station is more concerned with ad space than listeners some just disguise it better than RKO it is just reality.

....."Transmission from Twlight Zone Now Ends. That is All"!...(thanks Julie!)

Heard the very beginning, then tuned out, at that point they were discussing apple martinis. Turned it on again around 9:45 or so and they were discussing chocolate and 8 minute speed dating, YAWN!

I don't work at WRKO.

I simply wanted to know how the show sounded.

Some people have too much time and too active an imagination.

look at it tthis way:

If it's a show about eateries and clubs etc,........who do you think will advertise? eateries and clubs etc. Like the Phantom Gourmet, as bad as that show may be they have a built in ad/client base, the resturaunts advertise on that show like mad. im sure the idea is the same here, safe as milk with a built in ad segment. Yeah it's lame but it will make some money from the business segment that the show is supposed to be reporting on.

Todd will slide toward politics as the ratings drop, and whenever there is a major story. I could see it as a regular political show in 6 months.
