So "Louisville's Greatest Hits" touches down Friday. Probably two thirds '70s, a third '60s and 9 in a row on am and fm. KOOL!

Wrong about the AM. Are you guys at WAKY scared?

More of what this market needs "classic hits"...I suppose after WAKY, WSFR, WQMF and WLUE there is still more of that pie to go around?

Why not go after WVEZ?

Nothing to be scared of. There are lots of great stations in Louisville and WAKY is here for the long haul.

and the new WAKY has successfully attached itself to the heritage of the old 790 glory days:
good luck with 93.9...who will they identify with? maybe the old 1290 WREY? ;D

Classic hits for the ticket yuk a prime example why louisville radio is not great and boring.Think outside the box people

I love the stuff playing now (40's) but it won't last.

Isn't the reason WRKA flipped because they couldn't sell it? Then why oldies on 93-9?
I've seen numerous stations drop Oldies, not because they can't sell it, but because, in the decision maker's mind, the 'writing is on the wall'. First time I saw that happening is when 5+ share WKLR/Indianapolis dropped the format in the mid 90's. It was picked by 104.5 WGLD/Indy & again, produced that same 5+ share for a good number of years. It was dropped (yet again) for a Classic Hits format. It was then resurrected by a very signal challenged 95.9/Franklin & even then, came close to a 2 share. The format was again dropped and now has been picked up by a well signaled class A on the west side of Indy & occasionally flirts with a 4 share. I suspect that 5 share is still there if a full market signal adopted the format. For a format that's seen the writing on the wall for going on 15 years now, Oldies shouldn't be counted out. Of course, with the new calls I see posted, the word Classic is likely involved, so WAKY probably has little need to sweat.

"93.9 THE CLAP - CAN YOU GET IT?"

The best music from Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears of All time!

Louisville Classic Hits. AKA Another station wasting bandwith. What a waste.

Seriously...SHUT UP!

Anyways, after 30 minutes of listening, I really like the new 93-9 a lot!

When did it switch? I tuned in this morning about 8:20 hoping to listen to an irate local host, but all I heard was 3 minutes of Will's commericals and the canned ESPN national feed. What has WBKI done to fill the 6-8am simulcast on TV?

WLCL-- Louisville's CLAP station--Catch it today!

This station sounds just like 107.7 used to sound when they were known as "Super Star 107.7. Sounds like the exact same playlist.

That's not an insult, they play good music. Just nothing you can't already here.

great now we have lets count them 95.7,107.7,105.1,93.9.100.5 all play classic rock

They should have stayed sports at least it was something different on the fm dial

Cumulus is clueless to this market hey lets put a format that is on several other stations genius lol good job suits

Very dissappointing

Most media companies are like that. They see someone making money with a format and try to copy it. Look at all the reality TV shows on the air now. And how many people tried to copy "Who wants to be a Millionaire". They problem is, when someone tries to copy it, they do nothing more than dilute the market and make it worse for everyone else.
