Sukiyaki was done by Kyu Sakamoto. The song's actual title was Ue o Muite Arukō (上を向いて歩こう in Japanese), which translates to "I look up when I walk." Executives at Capitol Records figured that Americans would not be able to pronounce it so they changed it to the familiar word "Sukiyaki."
