S.O.S. - ABBA
Sad Eyes - Robert John

Sad Songs (Say So Much) - Elton John
Safety Dance - Men Without Hats

Wait! I'm not done with my Rh's yet!

Rhapsody in the Rain -- Lou Christie
Rhythm of My Heart -- Rod Stewart
Rhythm of the Night -- DeBarge
Rhythm of the Rain -- Cascades

Rhythm Of The Rain was written by Cascades lead singer John Gummoe. He quit the music business and began doing carpentry and woodworking. For many years I was his mailman. Also for many years he told me he had no plans to perform again...and then I saw him singing Rhythm Of The Rain on a new PBS tv special. There ya go!

How about some short-titled "S" songs:

SFO - Rick Springfield
SOS - ABBA
STP - Sublime
Sade - Judy Collins
Safe - Natalie Cole
Sam - Olivia Newton-John
Sand - Nancy Sinatra
Saved - Bob Dylan
Saved - Elvis Presley

Tons of song titles beginning with S. How many pages of S Songs can we come up with here?
Our A to Z countdown continues!! Lets try to keep the countdown in true alphabetical order as a radio station would hopefully do the same... :D

Sail Along Silvery Moon - Billy Vaughn
Sail On - Commodores
Sailing - Christopher Cross
Sailor - Lolita
Sally G - Paul McCartney
Sally Go 'Round the Roses - Jaynetts
Sam - Olivia Newton-John
Samba Para Ti - Santana
Same Old Lang Syne - Dan Fogelberg
Same Old Saturday Night - Frank Sinatra

Same Old Me - George Jones ( what a loss)
Sand In My Shoes - Drifters
Sandy - Larry Hall
Sandy Went Away - Impalas
San Francisco - Tony Bennett
Save My Soul - Jack Scott

LA Radio Rewind: Saw Six Teens on PBS special. What a performance

Saturday Night At The Movies - Drifters

Sad Sweet Dreamer -- Sweet Sensation
Sail On Sailor -- Beach Boys
Sailing -- Rod Stewart
San Franciscan Night -- Animals
San Francisco -- Scott McKenzie
Santa Claus is Coming to Town -- Bruce Springsteen
Santa Claus is Watching You -- Ray Stevens
Saturday Night -- Bay City Rollers
Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting -- Elton John

Mister oldies76 mentioned Sally G and Sally Go Round The Roses. How about:

Sally - Chi-Lites
Sally Ann - Cuff Links
Sally Anne - Freddie & the Dreamers
Sally B White - Charles Bevel
Sally Bryson - Darrell McCall
Sally Can't Dance - Lou Reed
Sally Free & Easy - Marianne Faithfull
Sally Goodin - Seatrain
Sally Gray's Epitaph - Kenny Rogers/First Edition
Sally Was A Good Old Girl - Hank Locklin
Sally Was A Good Old Girl - Trini Lopez
Sally's Birthday - Four Below Zero

There was another version of Sally Go Round The Roses on a 1966 live album by the Great Society. Their lead singer was Grace Slick. In 1968, after she became successful with her new band, Jefferson Airplane, Columbia released Sally as a single (Columbia 44583)...and the label didn't show "Great Society" as the artist---it said "Grace Slick." Sneaky!

I found more r's too:

Rich Girl - Hall & Oates
Ride - Dee Dee Sharp
Ride Away - Roy Orbison
Ride Captain Ride - Blues Image
Ride Like The Wind - Christopher Cross
Riders On The Storm - Doors

St. Charles -- Jefferson Starship
St. Dominic's Preview -- Van Morrison
St. Elmo's Fire -- John Parr
St. Judy's Comet -- Paul Simon
Sara -- Fleetwood Mac
Sara -- Jefferson Starship
Sara Smile -- Hall & Oates

St. George & The Dragonet was a Dragnet parody done by Stan Freberg, Daws Butler, Hy Averback and June Foray. (Butler went on to do voices in hundreds of Hanna-Barbera cartoons and Foray became the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel.) The recording spent four weeks at number one in late 1953. Dragnet always began with "My name is Friday. I'm a cop." The parody began with "My name is St. George. I'm a knight." And lo and behold, here it is on good ol' YouTube:

St. Louis Blues Mambo - Richard Maltby
