A TOTALLY UN-VERIFIED RUMOR

S

Still on the Radio

Guest
Just got an email from a friend...no names, in order to protect the innocent...made mention of a certain OM who has close ties to the young skulls full of much a little north of West Leb, in discussions of a possible move. Not sure, but that might ROCK. Anyone hearing the same thing?

I don't know, Heath, why don't you tell us the good news?

Rock is Desperately needed in NEK...
college radio is going more Indie rock based :-\

Thanks for hijacking yet another thread. If you want to discuss the purported lack of radio in the NEK, by all means, start a new thread, don't interrupt a thread which is clearly vaguely (ha ha) about former Nassau current Dartmouth PD Heath Cole.

HC and CG are good dudes.
Jamie, while both the Dartmouth and LSC radio stations are higher powered entities than most college stations, the Dartmouth station is even more unique in that it is operated as a business independent of the college. The Dartmouth station sells real commercial time, has a sales staff, and follows a format just to clarify if you already did not know this..

If I owned a retail business in the Upper Valley, I certainly would advertise on 99 Rock ! How's biz ?

And, by the way, the above "rumor," is totally that...rumor. As far as I know, the aforementioned person is staying right where he is....

..........which is too bad, because I'd take the job.
::)

Feedjake..
1) Being on the air.. lots of fun
2) Making a sale.. keeps your job
3) Depositing the commission check for all your hard work that you've earned.. "Priceless" !!

I heard some strange stuff almost more classic hits than classic rock on the pow-pow-powerhouse driving to Boston over Thanksgiving.. For example, "That's All" from Genesis, and "What a fool believes" by the Doobies.. almost back to back.. I would not call either one of those strong classic rock examples.. If WEEI is coming to one of the FM's in the UV, maybe something what's happening in Concord / Lakes Region where the "Frankster" is taking over for both a classic rock and oldies.. What was on Q could have been either a fluke, or a sign from the 50,000 watt pow-pow-pow-powerhouse..

if thats the case you will be seeing me stick the biggest FM antenna in the area to try to get q106... outstide of WWLR's stick in lyndonville ;) ohh I so wish...

heard a rumor that q106 is shifting their format from classic rock to a more active rock.....think hjy from providence....

The only way that you probably would hear over the air what Q106 may or may not do in the Kingdom, is to check out the rumor that Q106 is going to go international and a simultcast in French on it's HD2 channel so Q106 can get through Canadian regulations and simultcast on 50kw co-channel 106.1 CIMO in Magog, PQ.. The CIMO version will have the English version of the simultcast on it's HD-2 channel.. ::) Rock on !

For the record, the Q's been playing both of these titles songs off and on since I was there earlier in the decade.
