Sources at HJJ inform me that Arlene Violet (little Hilter) as she is refered to, has in her new 3 year contract.
1) a raise---- Thanks to David Bernsten tring to lure her to WPRO
2) New call screener.
3) New producer.
to name a few. Arlene is unfortunately very mean and 'controling' to work with.
To see people like her and Buddy Cianci (no talent politicans) in important on air jobs , makes most of us SICK.
You can thank Ron StPerrie, Jim Corwin, John Carpillio,David Bernsten, and Barbra Hanes for putting 'Politicians' were 'Talent' should be.

If they get revenue & ratings, GREAT. Otherwise, experienced talent's better.

wpro could offer her 300k and she still probably wouldnt go because she cant control that station like she does whjj... the management is so poor over at whjj but is wpro any better??

You've got that right for sure -- the fact that the above mentioned crew don't really give a crap about talented people AT ALL. I think we should send them all to island in the middle of nowhere.

Linda Diaz is Arlenes producer. Linda is a saint, yet Arlene demands a
new producer and call screener . She`s acting like a Dictator.
If Arlene Violet can`t get along with Diaz or John Buckly, she
can`t get along with anyone! I don`t like Pols poluting our studios.
Alan.

Sounds like sour grapes, man. They're not your studios, its not our business. I can see your frustration with program directors who are so limited in their imaginations that they have to hire people who don't know what they're doing because they have big names, but Arlene has proven her ability to attract and hold a big audience, so where's your beef?

Be more frustrated about PD's like Bernstien being treated like a programming guru when he has a history of big jobs and little success.

And by the way, Yorke the professional host is weaker than Arlene.

attract and hold a big audience? Can you back that up? Doesn't look like it from the ratings.

I'm not claiming any lust for Arlene. Just stating the fact that she was the dominant host in the market for a long time, and it took Yorke some years to catch her.

Her ratings may have tanked of late, but that's at a station that you couldn't have messed up any worse if you'd set out to destroy it on purpose.

I'd say WPRO is better. Mary Ann Sorentino couldn't control WPRO's sales dept. and airstaff any more after Ron St. Pierre took over as PD and started cleaning house. 99% of the advertising on her show before Ron showed up was in Trade. Furs and such. Easy to see why Telemedia wanted to dump the white elephant: ratings were great but no money coming in the front door. Not to mention she thought she was the Star and everyone had to bow down to her. Reality that she was not the Star of WPRO kicked in when Ron sent her out the front door packing. Her failed attempt at a comeback on 550 The Buzz, with her old WPRO producer in tow, is definitely what shut her up for good. I can only imagine the number of people who've had their careers screwed up by her over the years.
