A WCBS-FM Clone....

..from back before the Jack FM days when they were a real oldies station.

I've had the station streaming for about 4 hours now and haven't wanted to change the "dial" once!

1150AM and 105.7FM WCRK Morristown, TN. A 5KW AM & 250W Translator.

A good, LOCAL station to boot... local news coverage, weather.. sports and GREAT music!

They are pretty much a clone of WCBS-FM... the music mix is definately alot more "oldies" then classic hits in my opinion plus they are using "105.7 CRK-FM" jingles resung to JAM's "Do It Again" package for WCBS-FM.

They're using Jim O'Brien (www.voysky.com) for their voiceover work.

The WCRK logo is even a copy of WCBS-FM!!

Check em out online at http://www.wcrk.com

Nice, but the audio quality from there stream is a bit awfull and too flat.

I thought it sounded OK, but I'm not an audio buff. I was listening through some decent Sony headpones attached to my IPhone.

Wow thank you for this!!!!

101.1 was as good as BIG-D 103 was in Connecticut!

Ill give it a listen :)

EDIT:

Thier 128k stream sounds good but the 24k one sounds bad!! (Understandable seeing its MP3)

I listen to the 128 kpbs stream on the website but it sounds like they using less processing so sometimes the sound is off-level

Or if you want a better oldies station than WCBS-FM, you should check out "Fox Oldies" at 98.9  in the Hudson Valley area, the music on WGNY sound a lot like WCBS-FM during the pre-Jack era (1972-2005). Go to this link and click on "Fox Oldies" and you listen to it via stream, so that it will make you feel like listening to WCBS-FM all over again.

Or, you can listen to WROW's "Magic 590" in Albany, they have the same music as well the "Do It Again" jingles that CBS-FM used it for years is now on "Magic 590".

Its sad they arent steaming in WMA where it would sound the nicest...

Here is an oldies stream @ 32k WMA and although it sounds GOOD it would sound better if it was 64k!! (Which sounds superb (for digital))

All hit oldies: mms://boomerradio-wm.streamguys.com/boomerradio-hitoldies-32

I sure do mi$$ the good sound of PURE ANALOGUE!! (Only place I can get that now is on Records,Cassettes,VHS media, etc)

So like the real CBS-FM's audio quality! ;D

Speaking of which it has been worse than ever, they seemed to turn up the bass and there is no treble whatsoever, It is completely unlistenable. Good thing I can recieve B103 (sort of) where I am!
