A word of caution about 106.7's flip

According to Citadel's web site, there is not one station(primarily AC/Hot AC) that is named "Mix" anywhere within the radio company. So I don't think it's going to happen. A possible flip to a mainstream hot AC using the "Mix" name will not work, since there are too many hot AC stations in the Harrisburg market. It would make it difficult (ratings-wise) for a station to compete with other stations.

I have enjoyed listening to Cool Pop while we were on the NE Extension of the PA Turnpike near the Allentown area. While I was eating on the parking lot of Burger King in upper Bucks County, the station's signal was loud and clear! And coming back home, it made it all the way almost to the W-B exit of the turnpike, but not quite.

If the management at Citadel decides what to do with this station, they should go try the "Diva" format, which was successfully launched in Louisiana. That format focuses on classic dance mixing with modern AC tunes, aimed toward younger women.

So, that's my opinion about the flip.

Bland 106-7

...best way to describe the current "mix". They were on the right
track with the weekend dance stuff.

Don't bet on it. On my way home today I passed the Mix 106.7 truck with brand new graphics set up with the Mix 106.7 canopy at Glenn Miller's in Lemoyne. Looks like they're (*sigh*) here to stay.

Re: Bland 106-7

I also would have liked to see them do "Diva 106.7". I really enjoyed their 3 decades of dance weekends.
