HEY GUYS AND GALS:

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT FORMAT OR FORMATS WVCG HAD BETWEEN 1967 (WHEN IT DROPPED THE CLASSICAL FORMAT WITH 105.1) AND 1981 (WHEN IT WENT OLDIES). WAS IT NOSTALGIA BEFORE GOING OLDIES IN 1981? AND HOW LONG WAS IT CLASSICAL WITH 105.1? DID THE CLASSICAL FORMAT START IN 1949 WHEN 1080 SIGNED ON??

It was an "Easy-Listening" format simular to WYOR and WLYF.
In early 1981 it flipped to a pop/standards/personality format.
In Aug. 1982 it flipped to a 50s/60s oldies format. It was sold around
June/July 1983 and became a brokered format.
