AAR coming to Stockton-Modesto Soon!

I have heard from an insider that Air America is trying to get in the Stockton-Modesto radio market by September, but he wouldn't let me know what station it would be and I can't figure out who would switch? Of Stockton's AM Stations, it wouldn't be KWG-1230 because they are owned by Immaculate Heart Radio(Catholic Owned) and I doubt very much the LaRue Family would switch KSTN's format and that leaves Clear Channel owned KUYL- AM 1280 The Lighthouse, a Religious Station. I know Clear Channel has plenty of Air America Affiliates but I hear that The Lighthouse has a loyal following and the Religious shows pays the bills at the station. As for Modesto stations, Crawford Broadcasting owns Religious KCBC-770 so unless they sell I doubt they would switch. Pappas KTRB-860 is slated to move to San Francisco so I'm crossing them from the list. KVIN-920 The Vine might be a possibilty but I doubt they would drop a proven winner of Adult Standards. Hmm, Would Citadel drop KESP-970's money losing ESPN All Sports programming. That's a possibility? Clear Channel's Conservative NewsTalk KFIV-1360 isn't going anywhere so don't even think! And I doubt La Favorita will drop Spanish on KLOC-1390. So what is eveyones guess is?

Interesting outlook here...

Very true.

You never know. KSTN-AM costs money with a PD and jocks now. You throw on a 24/7 satellite feed, then they just need to sell it.

Not too familiar with how this station is doing.

Good point. Probably true, unless they want to bring something new to the market.

And they wouldn't support the Liberal agenda if you know what I mean.

It's proven if the books show it. How are they billing?

Not at all. An insider there tells me that since they got their new PD in 2003/early 2004 the station has been billing much more and is doing very well.

True.

My guess is KSTN-AM, Lighthouse, or KCBC.
