AAR gets one more week to find a buyer

http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.aspx?feed=AP&Date=20061120&ID=6213123

"Air America Radio...has another week to find a buyer. A lawyer for the network, Tracy Klestadt, told a bankruptcy hearing Monday that the company was in "advanced negotiations with a few parties" about a sale, and expected to have more definitive news on a deal in a week."

So I'm guessing the new buyer will have to pick up all or most of the $20million debt...half of which is a loan
to Rob Glaser of Real Networks.

Word has it from a Clear Channel source that Air America/prog talk could be gone from the Boston airwaves
(WKOX 1200, WXKS 1430) by Friday, regardless of whether or not a buyer is found.

Are you play the rumor mill game like your pal Maloney?

more 'proof for the people' ::)

Here's Baroosk on the Titanic:

" Okay people lets get these deck chairs set up just so~ do not worry about the rising water. It is just another right wing ploy to silence our great ship! The SS Err Amerika is unnnnn-sinkable! "

..somebody should start a dead pool. Even lefty bloggers now admit AAR was a failure.
They don't even talk about AAR in the present tense. AAR is officially the 'yellow Wiggle.' Everyone know's he is very ill, but they don't want to scare the children.shhhhhhh ;D

I heard the same piece of information from Jesse's dog.

All Access says that negotations have gone into overtime and a buyer for the network should be announced by the middle of next week (and whomever gets it, can they get that $20 million debt paid off btw?). Their VP/PR rep sent an email to affiliates thanking them for their patience and assuring them there will be a "plan to take us into a future beyond bankruptcy". This, as stations are dumping or moving Franken's show or changing formats...

Just what assets does Air America have? They have breached contracts with hosts who can walk away from them if they want to, a rapidly diminishing list of stations giving them clearance, and a name that has been dragged through the mud that would probably need to be changed. Why on earth would anyone want to pay for whatever it is Air America has left?
