She's one of the nicest people I've worked with, and I was bummed for her when a buddy of mine told me. I hope no one else from there gets whacked, but with the crossover thang they can save some money now by "moving in another direction."

Damn, that's a loss!

Abbott Dutton was a Channel 31 institution, and it's sad to hear she's gone. I also had the pleasure of running into her a time or two out in the broadcast world, and she was always nice to me.

I met her on a couple of occasions and she was such a sweet person. She once told me how much she loved being at Channel 31 and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. She had offers from KCRA 3 as well as KRON 4 but she felt such a loyalty to Channel 31. Too Bad.

You're in violation?

Under a California law enacted in 1960, it's a Class B felony to
use the terms "television" and "loyalty" in the same sentence.
Actually you're in the clear because you cleverly substituted call
letters and channel numbers for "television" but, man, you're
slicing the bologna frightfully thin!

Does that California law include the terms "radio" and "loyalty":) Actually everyone shouldn't be loyal to any job. It'll bite you in the A**!

No, that's a different, kinder and more gentle law.

Violation is punishable by public ridicule on the statehouse steps.
It's a sub-section of The Great California Law Concerning Public
Displays of Stupidity.
