ABC affiliates not carrying "Dark Shadows"

There were some ABC affiliates not carrying the 1966-71 cult soap opera classic Dark Shadows and then starting to clear the show, or not carrying the show at all. Here's the list of the ABC affilites didn't air Dark Shadows (later cleared the show and/or not airing it at all):

WJZ-TV (now CBS O&O) Baltimore, Maryland (I don't know that WJZ cleared DS later in the run)
WGHP-TV (now FOX) Greensboro, North Carolina (didn't carry the show at all I think, instead they run movies at 4pm)
WHBQ-TV (now FOX O&O) Memphis, Tennessee (later cleared it during the middle of the run. Ironically, DS actor Don Briscoe died in Memphis on Halloween 2004.)
WLOS-TV Asheville, North Carolina (pre-empted for Dennis The Menace, but they later cleared the show in early 1968)

Do you have other ABC afffiliates not carrying Dark Shadows at all (or later cleared)?

WNAC-TV Boston (now WHDH-TV, an NBC affiliate) did not run Dark Shadows until 1/13/1969. Prior to that time, Channel 7 ran movies at 2:00 (Ed Miller's "Dialing For Dollars Movie") and at 4:00 ("The Money Movie").

WXEX (now WRIC) in Richmond taped all five shows and
played them in a block from 2-4:30 on Sunday afternoons.

WQXI (WXIA) carried "Dark Shadows" at 5:15, following its
3:30 movie and before its 15-minute "Instant News" in 1968;
I think that for most of its run it aired at 5 PM, because I remember
"To Tell The Truth" airing at 4 in 1970, and "DS" was briefly the lead-in
to the station's 5:30 "Eye-Witness (that's how they wrote it) News."

WMSL (now NBC affiliate WAFF) Huntsville, AL, used to delay "Dark
Shadows" from 3 PM (CT) to 6 PM. Smart move, since "DS" came on
in Alabama just as we were getting out of school, and good counterprogramming
to local news on WHNT and WAAY.

I'm not sure about WVUE New Orleans; they had a history of pre-empting
ABC's soaps (at one time, I remember, "All My Children," "One Life To Live," and
"General Hospital" were all pre-empted in the Big Easy).

Ironically, Dark Shadows featured Terry Crawford (who played Beth Chavez and Edith Collins) is from Boston. And they mentioned Boston on the show many times. How odd!

I was a big Dark Shadows fan back in the day. In spite of WNAC not carrying Dark Shadows prior to 1/13/69, I was able to watch DS on a few of the out-of-town ABC affiliates. Namely, they were WTEV, now WLNE Channel 6 in New Bedford, MA (Providence market), WMUR-TV Channel 9 in Manchester, NH and WMTW-TV Channel 8, Mt. Washington, NH (almost 200 miles away on New England's highest peak!). It was worth the snowy screen!!!

I don't remember the particulars, but I believe WPGH-53 carried "Dark Shadows" rather than WTAE-4 in Pittsburgh. A quick Google scan finds quite a bit of evidence about it, including an earlier Classic TV posting quoting a Post-Gazette listing from the period. WPGH aired quite a few castoffs from the three network-affiliated Vs in Pittsburgh at the time. It actually was a rather entertaining and well-programmed independent station, all things considered.

Maybe not. The show took place in Maine, and Boston is the nearest major city. No different from "Guiding Light" and "As The World Turns" frequently mentioning Chicago.
