ABC has announced that Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer will fill in on a rotating basis for Bob Woodruff on World News Tonight.
Now, I didn't find this announcement anywhere at ABC.com or even via WNT. It was a blurb a few minutes ago on WCVB-TV's (ABC affiliate, Boston) 11pm news. I did check ABC's website including WNT's site but couldnt find any announcement.
I did read somewhere earlier today that this announcement was forthcoming. More than likely, Elizabeth and Charlie would co-anchor 2 days per week, Diane and Elizabeth would co-anchor 2 days per week, and Elizabeth would go solo the fifth day.
It was probably fairly evident anyway on last night's State of the Union coverage with Charlie and Elizabeth the main anchors of the show. I must say, though, that there were a couple of moments during the coverage last night (mainly when the camera inadvertantly cut to Charlie rather than George Stephonopolus or someone else) that Charlie looked really annoyed. Maybe it was just me.
Edited by WMC2005 on 02/02/06 04:27 AM.
