ABC brass rejects PETA’s Thanksgiving turkey-killing ad

http://nypost.com/2016/11/17/abc-brass-rejects-petas-thanksgiving-turkey-killing-ad/

ABC Disney says its too controversial for TV and too disturbing for the holidays.

PETA wanted to save a few turkeys this Thanksgiving — but ended up having a television network flip it the bird.

The animal-rights activists put together a holiday-inspired TV commercial which features a child playing the part of a turkey in a school play.

The child then goes off script to explain how turkeys are killed.

But Disney’s ABC network rejected it.

“We appreciate that the commercial does not, as you point out, contain sex, violence or profanity,” an ABC lawyer admitted in a letter to PETA.

“Nevertheless,” the lawyer continued, “we are concerned that some viewers, particularly as we enter the holiday season, could be disturbed by the graphic description offered by the child dressed as a turkey.”

A spokeswoman for ABC did not immediately respond for comment.

PETA, which gets its Thanksgiving ad rejected nearly every year, wanted the spot to run this week, it said, “when over 45 million turkeys are killed” and consumers are shopping for the holiday.

It's always about violence with these people.

PETA: "Why kill animals?"
Everyone else: "Why show how we kill animals while we eat?"

I'm all for people who chose the vegan life but there are other ways to say no to turkeys and still have a merry ol' time together.

Every few weeks it seems someone writes a letter to the editor telling us how great a vegan diet is. Yeah, if it was so great we'd be doing it.

I want to eat meat but just don't tell me where it comes from. I have a right to be disturbed by this and I'm glad they don't want to disturb me. I also have a right to eat food I like.

PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals. LOL.

About 14 years ago PETA was in my town protesting the local KFC because of how KFC was mistreating the chickens. They interviewed one of the people from PETA on he local radio station and they stated PETA's goal was to make everyone vegetarians.

KFC Mistreats Chickens? Wait KFC gets their chickens from subcontractors not KFC directly.

But back to the original post. I get why ABC/Disney and their O&O's and affiliates don't want to air the PETA ad. Its simply to them they see it as a political ad but two to three weeks after the election thats probably their point.

Well, i don't blame ABC/Walt Disney Company for doing this, PETA always goes for shock factor to try to make us go vegan or vegetarian.
