ABC bumps "Ugly Betty" back to another week.

Originally, it was supposed to return Next Friday-But according to reliable sources it has pushed the America Ferrera-starred show to The Friday after next(October 16th). This could signal the end of once-popular show that was doing better on Thursday Nights-when Flash Forward, a new sci-fi show tooked over the 7/8 Eastern slot. that was held by "Betty" for the past 3 seasons. Evidentally, series co-star Vanessa Williams has confirmed that she'll be doing a sondheim musical over at Broadway's Studio 54, and that could signal the end of the road for "Ugly Betty".

Oh, Duh. I think "Ugly Betty" wants to become a swan after 3 years of being an Ugly Duckling. We'll be seeing a huge transformation of "Ugly Betty", as we zip right along.

So, ABC wants to stretch the whole rerun thing, huh?
Instead of a rerun of an ABC program, why not air a movie?
One that relates best to the ugly Betty show.
ALSO run several Ugly Betty promos and teasers durring that time while they're at it!

There are dozens and dozens of channels that show movies, most of which are pretty darn crappy anyway.

Since ABC has college football on Saturday nights, they cannot "showcase" their programs like CBS and NBC on Saturday night. So that makes Friday night the best possible choice. Plus, if the reruns weren't getting acceptable ratings, there would be room on the schedule for first-run episodes of other programs.

This is the future of network programming. Cable has been doing for years. MTV, USA, Bravo, FX, etc all show their "original" programs repeatedly, often immediately after the initial play. NBC replays the 9PM Wednesday SVU every Saturday at 10PM, so I dont bother DVR-ing it on Wednesday. My DVR is already filled at 8PM on Thursday, so the Friday FlashForward works great for me. Yes, I know that I can watch it online, but unless you have a pristine connection and a 42 inch monitor, its not the best option.

I'll bet Ugly Betty gets shipped off to January 2010 and a nice 13-consecutive-week timeslot.

In a few years, a 22-episode order for anything but the most popular programs will also be a distant memory.

I was looking at TitanTV's website and I've found out ABC plans to Re-Run episodes of "Flash Forward", "Modern Family", and "The Middle" in what supposed to be the night "Ugly Betty" was supposed to return this Friday, with a two-hour episode, and ironically, Friday & Saturday Nights happens to be the worst nights for TV, and we all know that. I think ABC should stop playing games-and move "Ugly Betty" to Tuesday or Wednesday nights-where most people are at home watching TV. Bottom Line: The Ax will fall on a show like "Ugly Betty" that has'nt yet start its own season.

Actually, this is a pretty good idea. Not sure why they don't slide UB after Dancing With The Stars on Monday or Tuesday. It seems to be a better programming match than "Castle" or "forgotten".

well WHAT will they call the show then? hey, when i watch a show called "Ugly Betty", i want UGLY! Damn it!

This is stupid. I'm a "Ugly Betty" fan. Maybe ABC should let the TV Guide Network air the fourth season, since TVG did paid big bucks to air the rights and they have been looking for original scripted shows. This way it kills two birds with one stone.

Without the glasses and braces she's actually quite pretty.

And the actress has lost weight, though the character hasn't.

She has a nice smile, braces or not. I look forward to her return and hope this isn't a sign the end is coming.

A reader Jeer in TV Guide said Vanessa should have won best supporting actress. Isn't that the truth.

Oh goodie, ABC/Disney is trying to push a decent and well-scripted show off a cliff because they are don't want it around anymore. That's interesting because you see this always occuring to the well-scripted, diverse-casted on the networks like Friday Night Lights, the Unit, the Game, and now this show.

Well to be so frank, TV GUIDE channel has also joined in the bandwagon, as it plans to air "Ugly Betty" with blessings from ABC Studios, and plans to have a huge celebration over at TV GUIDE studios in Hollywood and expect the cast to drop by (Including America & Vanessa) to meet their loyal fans.

I enjoyed the episode a lot.

I don't like Betty's new look. I can't stand those glasses on anyone. I don't know what makes that style so popular.

And I liked the clothes she wore before. I do look forward to her braces coming off. She does have such a pretty smile.
