abc.com: What the...?!?!?!

You'd think that the main abc.com (or abc.go.com, if you prefer) front page might at least mention the passing of one of the network's most lasting and visible talents.

You would, apparently, think wrong; every time I've looked at it today, there have been promos for tonight's preseason football game and for Desperate Housewives merchandise, but nothing whatsoever about Jennings. In fact, at 6:13 PM EDT, as I type this, the primetime schedule on the main page hasn't even been updated to reflect tomorrow's two-hour special tribute to Jennings. (And I note that the little tile link to abcnews.com now features Jennings, which it didn't earlier today; THAT site has been giving Jennings the proper amount of attention all day.)<P ID="signature">______________

At bottom center (just above the schedule) , there's a mention in the form of a headshot with Peter Jennings 1938-2005, it acts as a link to the ABC News Section, which is covered with his passing.

I gotta agree with Fybush. They certainly could have bannered the passing of their anchorman in a much more prominate way on the website. It is just my opinion, but I think the death of Peter Jennings is a lot more important than Desperate Houswives or the Hall of Fame game.

I agree...WNT tonight was well played. The somber intro and the end when they said "The American Broadcasting Company...". Made me say "wow" to myself.

Since yesterday (August 8th), the video section in the upper-left portion of the http://abc.go.com homepage should have been showing clips of some of Peter Jennings' best reporting instead of previewing the upcoming drama series "Commander-In-Chief".

Plainly, there are some at ABC who don't know. Others don't care. Still others don't care to know.

I just like how on ABCNews.com, besides the one free video clip, still required their stupid RealOne subscription to view the videos about Peter Jennings' passing. Way to make a buck off of someone's death, Disney & Real!
