ABC Family disclaimer, what gives?

They used to do something similar for "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

because there is one episode where Colin Mochrie jokes about having E.D.

Come on, everybody, the concept of "family entertainment" has evolved over the decades since TV came into our lives. This isn't the 1960s, it's aughts...or I guess it's now the "teens" even though we're still 3 years off...what do we call this decade anyway?

Regardless, the definition of "family entertainment" has evolved over the 6 decades of my life - from married TV couples not being able to sleep in the same bed or say the word "pregnant"....to the controversy over Jeannie's exposed belly button...to Roseanne kissing Mariel Hemingway...and now to Courtney Cox's son walking in on her giving a casual date a BJ....on prime time network TV. As far as I know, that BJ (off camera, obviously) didn't cause a single ripple of controversy.

Erectile dysfunction commercials mean people are talking about ED, so of course, actors and comedians are joking about it. Let's all be adults and get used to it.

Geting back to the ratings bugs and other graphics,The rating bug does not bother me as the big bulky promos for shows coming up a week later.the rating bug is on for seconds, the ABC/Family icon or from other stations sometimes are annoying but not as much as those promos do.

or more to my original point....the makers of the First Response Home Pregnancy Test feel somehow
compelled to try and tap the tween market

Those promos are now referred to as "video litter" or "video clutter" or something like that. I agree with you; those are annoying! The ones with moving graphics are the worst!

The best is the "E/I" graphic shown on ABC during Saturday morning "ABC Kids" programming. On the right of the screen, you will see an ABC logo on the bottom, attempting to jump up to the top of the screen to get fitted into a graduate's cap with a big "E/I" on it. Once the logo is "fitted," the combined logo becomes transparent and fixed over the program. I should say that this is for all "ABC Kids" programming sans "Power Rangers - I guess there's nothing educational about what they do...
