ABC-Indy-Chicago Thought

Just looking at the new indy trends

thinking about the ABC switch of WZZN to oldies

do we care to speculate if this will come on Radio Disney...those are some pretty good numbers for that kids format...

i don't remember how well 98.3 covered the market...is it better than 95.9?

but wouldn't it be pretty easy for them to put the Scott Shannon True Oldies channel on WRDZ? ABC syndicates the format...Market #3 and #41 looks pretty good for a 24/7 music network to get new affiliates...24/7 sat music networks are really dying off in favor of tracking in the small markets...if ABC is looking to sell the radio division does that count the syndication arm? If it doesn't...hmmmm anyone thinking what I am thinking....

Yes, although both are 3 KW signals at 91 meters, 98.3 seems to have had a larger coverage area than what WIAU has.

Maybe, but WRDZ just flipped formats...not long ago...2003 perhaps?

I'm thinking it is entirely pathetic for two stations owned by the same media company in markets #3 and #41 to air the same syndicated sat feed on well-rated stations. That what you were thinking?

I would fear what would happen if ABC did sell the Radio Networks arm...they currently program really well, new owners have a tendency to screw things up.

Actually...that is a good thought...but I was thinking

What if ABC is just trying to bolster the scott shannon network and saying fu@k the radio stations we own...run em cheap...inflate profit....sell it off

WZZN Chicago was not a well rated station, it was barely getting over a 1 share. Suburban rimshots and weak AM stations were getting similar ratings which is pretty sad.
