ABC mulling over Cat...And Crush? WWYD?

Soon, Allie Reid will going on-air at Fly as a personality, she is now their PD. IF ABC decides to pull the Cat, what shall they do? Why can't anyone compete with WGNA? They play the same format, they have the same wattage. Is it the DJs? I believe there is room for 2 country stations here in the Cap Region. Am I wrong? There are 3 rock stations, nobody is bitching. There's Fly, Jamz and Kiss. Similar formats...B95 and The River are similar.

Why isn't there any live DJs on Crush? It's mid January. New GM and New PD. Music is the 90s...Nothing has changed. Are they staying jockless? Their rating are currently 1.4, way down form 4.4 from a year ago.

What say you?

Cat is doing it's job which is to shave a couple of points away from GNA and help the other stations in their group. The Cat signal (6000) is no where close to powerhouse GNA (50,000). I doubt they are mulling anything over concerning this station except perhaps to sell it at some point and move the format to one of their other signals. Hmm.. who's not performing to expectation there? I expect you will hear a live jock or two very soon on Crush.

104.9 The Cat is pretty much all VTed/satellite right now, AFAIK? For 104.9, I'd recommend AAA, Urban AC or a Magic simulcast... Magic on 590 and 104.9 would at least hurt WTRY... AAA perhaps but would it overlap with Rock 100.9? Urban AC might work but could actually hurt Jamz in the long run...

104.9 would be best with a format that's virtually exclusive to the market (AAA or Urban AC?)... one of the reasons why Jamz has a 5 share even with a similar signal, they're just about exclusive to the Urban/Rhythmic format :)

Has there been any say as to if Ally will stay on-air on The Cat while she's on Fly? ALSO--which air shift will she be doing? Perhaps I'm wrong but it seems that someone will be moved/let go to make room for her...does anyone have any insight?

Ally would do mid-days to replace fill-in Suzie Garcia is my guess...

Yes, Suzie is going back to Poughkeepsie...(sp) Allie to do middays.

I hope Suzy is going to do her shift on "Fox Oldies" in the future if Bob Corsino takes over his shift and put him on weekends. If "Fox Oldies" is doing okay in the ratings, maybe they should be hiring Suzy Garcia to do her show. It was originally going to start last year, but I hope she will give a shot. If "Fox Oldies" succeeds, they should hire more personalities including the return of "Downtown" Lou Brown on the station. Let's hope for the future.
