ABC News Special Report(9-17-78)

I just recently recieved a VHS recording of the ABC Sunday Night Movie from September 17, 1978. It's the original three hour broadcast of the premiere of Battlestar Galactica(with original commercials & network promos). At the end of hour two, ABC News broke in with the enfamous special report(the special report itself isn't included in this recording). Even though I was eleven going on twelve at the time, I remember the event in the special report.

That is correct. I wonder how the other networks covered the event? CBS aired the Primetime Emmys and NBC aired part two of the '76 version of King Kong, according to the issue of TV Guide I have from that week.

If memory doesn't play me false, the Emmys were delayed by about a half-hour for the annoucement ceremony.
