ABC News sued over "Pink Slime" story

BPI, the maker of the so-called "pink slime" has sued ABC News, anchor Diane Sawyer, two reporters, and three people that appeared in the report, including a USDA microbiologist and a former BPI employee. BPI is claiming that ABC's reporting labeled their product "unfit for human consumption" amongst other claims.

This case will go nowhere...it is just a company about to go under trying to get a quick buck out of the whole mess.

That so called "news story" cost hundreds of people their jobs with no proof that the practice was harmful at all. I hope they nail ABC

Wasn't ABC News sued before for Food Lion back in the 1980's and 1990's and Diane Sawyer again was named in that case?

If I recall that case involved ABC allegedly planting something in one of their meat cases.
(not unlike the famous NBC Dateline exploding truck incident). This one is more of a grey area.
Whether this stuff is fit for human consumption or not seems largely a matter of opinion.
