ABC renames evening newscast "World News With Charles Gibson"

No more "World News Tonight." It is now simply "World News."

My opinion... "World News Tonight" had a ring to it. "World News" is just plain bland.

I don't like the change.
 
With television news now a 24/7 enterprise, perhaps the "Tonight" was seen as too time constricting. And it will allow for further branding of ABC News outside the traditional evening newscast times.
 
Maybe somebody finally figured out that no one else calls 5:30 pm, when it airs here in the Midwest, "night" during much of the year!
