ABC retro promos

During the live performance last night of the classic shows Good Times and All in the Family, they had promos for their current TV shows
but in old style 70's analog TV they way they used to do it.

You may wonder at first what this has to do with DXing and reception but some of the promos had co channel interference lines and even rolling bars just as we sometimes saw back then with just rabbit ears or an antenna on the roof.

I thought it was pretty cool.

And the announcer sounds very similar to the late, great, incredible Ernie Anderson, may he forever and ever RIP. Yep, the picture looks straight out of 1979. The discoloring, the graphics, and even the picture quality...it's summer of '79 again, and your ABC station on channel 2, 3 or 4 is getting interference from distant DX.
Kudos to ABC! Bringing back the classic game shows to hot ratings and now classic promos! Ernie is smiling from the heavens.
To make it even better, they should have replaced the 2019-era commercials with 1979 commercials. Wouldn't it be nice to have seen Mean Joe Greene's Coke ad, some classic car commercials and Anacin/Bayer ads from that period? (OK, I'm guessing the current audience would be confused by these old products.)

I take it they were only using those promos for last night's nostalgia theme but hopefully they will decide to keep using them for a while.

It was just like being in high school again.

I always liked the way Ernie Anderson used to say ... "The LOVE Boat".
