Dream House had been doing reasonably well
for ABC at 1:00; CBS and NBC didn't program
1-1:30 at the time. But in June 1969 TV Guide
reported that none of the houses won on the
show so far (since March 1968) had been completed,
and that some couples had to borrow money to buy
the land, since the $7000 the show allowed was not
enough. The show began offering winners a cash
payout in lieu of the house, but that article has been
cited as the reason for Dream House's decline.

All My Children has held down the 1:00 slot ever since,
except for a period from July 1975 to March 1977, when
Ryan's Hope aired at that time and AMC aired at 12:30.
When AMC went to an hour, it went back to 1:00 and
RH moved to 12:30 (and later to 12:00, where it was
killed by affiliate pre-emptions for noon news in the Eastern
time zone).

I thought the two switched back in January 1977, three months before AMC went to an hour.
