ABC To Flush "Flash Forward"

I've been referring to it as "Flush Forward" since its debut.

Hokey beyond belief. Like "Lost".

"Lost" has been lost since its first airing... how much longer of this show!?

Does anyone remember the original "Lost"? The one that was actually a reality tv series where they rounded up some couples, tossed them on a plane to some unknown destination and told them to find their own way home...?

Now that was the GOOD Lost!

No but I remember my parents trying that a few times.

This coming season is the last one.

After a dismal debut, it appears ABC will not bring back the futuristic drama next year.

Or, as TV By The Numbers says: "Plan For A Future Without Flash Forward":

The article that you link is a prediction on the part of a website as to which programs will be renewed and which are likely to be cancelled. That article does not indicate that any actual decision has been made by ABC regarding the future of "Flash Foward" after the current season -- but does suggest that if the ratings don't pick up in March, the first season will also be the last.

"Flash Forward" (which I've been watching and enjoying) actually had a very solid debut -- but has been steadily losing audience in the three months that it was on in the Fall. Since I doubt tha a three month hiatus is going to help the ratings, I suspect that the prediction of this show getting cancelled is likely to be accurate. But, again, it is only a prediction.

I suppose it is a concept that would last only a limited tme.

My guess is the real April 2010 will be sweeps.

I forget what day of the month everyone was seeing.

I realize I should have replaced "to" with "may" in the thread title... Sorry about that!

I would urge the executives at ABC to bring back "Defying Gravity" in place of Flash Forward.

That show had potential if the network only gave it time to find an audience.

And that's the problem today. Networks don't bother to give shows time to build an audience like they did years ago.

Remember "Cheers" was at the bottom of the ratings for a long time before it became a major hit.

Maybe the time has come to "Flush" some network brass down the drain, along with all of these reality shows, and let some new people develop ideas.

I got bored watchihg "Flash Forward" after a few episodes. The plot was going too slow for my taste. I just hope ABC doesn't replace "Flash Forward" with another reality show. ::)

I'm waiting for some network to come up with a show entited "Tiger's Women".

And it was really entertaining.

Are you sure you're not thinking of "Seinfeld"?

No it was "Cheers." During the first few years the show was on the air it remained doubful that NBC would renew it.

I saw a list f things this show should do, in the actual USA Today. I'm not sure exactly how I found out about it.

One important change was that the main character Mark Binford (every time I see that name I think of "Tool Time", Tim Allen's TV show on "Home Improvement") needed to act heroic and not be preoccupied with his wife's cheating and his own drinking.
