ABC Tweaked its logo for The 2013 Fall TV season.

It replaced the black bubble logo as it emphasizes on the three platforms of TV; The color of The ABC dot is still black, but look at the bottom right corner, it reflects on these phases; Gold for general entertainment(Daytime & Primetime), Blue for News, and Red for Sports-Related programming (Primarily with ESPN). The Logo itself does have a clean look. And it will extend over to ABC Studios in September.

I noticed the red bottom...thought I was going crazy

The ABC dot looks kinda The Jacksonville Jaguars' new helmet-Black on the front, and it fades to Gold on the back. How cool is that?

I like it too. I'm sure a lot of the affiliates are unhappy though since many of them just recently inherited the shiny look from 2007. I'm sure it's expensive for the smaller and mid-market stations who don't have an in-house graphic design department. I noticed many of the big market O&O and affiliates have changed to the new look but lots of the smaller markets still continue with the other shiny one. The older one always looked like it had eye lashes in the middle of the logo. Didn't quite get the point of that.

The graphic / logo is easy to change out. A webmaster could have it changed out in less than a hour on a website. I use to charge $25 / hour for retainer customers, $45 for non customers. If you have a news department or do any local commercial production you will have someone who can do this in house.
