ABC World News Tonight - All Pharmaceutical Ads

I watched ABC World News Tonight last night on WSB-TV as I sometimes do. For some reason, I paid attention to the ads. With the exception of one ad and promos during the 30 minute newscast, there were all pharmaceutical ads. If there is a local avail during the newscast, then those were pharmaceutical also. Has the demo gotten that old?
 
The same ads are on NBC Nightly News and CBS Evening News. We all need our MEDS!!!
 
You also may notice on both local news there is less hard news (murder mayhem, plane crashes etc.) and more medical news. Our local station has something called "medical matters" I've noticed that when a drug company comes out with a new miracle drug the networks all do stories on the "breakthrough" and just happen to have commercial for the same company. Remember when Viagra came out. Nearly every network news show had extensive coverage on the little blue pills.

That's because the population of the people who watch the big three's news anymore are over 60. I haven't watched a newscast from one of the big three networks on purpose in over 10 years. It's all in the demographic.
